Schizophrenia is a treatable illness
Complete recovery (no more signs of schizophrenia when stopping treatment) is possible in 20 to 25% of cases. And in the remaining 75 to 80% of cases, when a complete cure is not possible (having to continue taking the treatment to have no more signs of the disease), we manage to remove all the symptoms or stabilize them to make them acceptable. The sooner treatment is put in place, the more likely it is that the treatment will be effective.
