The diagnosis of schizophrenia is a diagnosis that is made solely on the basis of the collection of the patient's symptoms through the questioning of the patient and his entourage.
There are standardized questionnaires that help to diagnose schizophrenia and better assess its intensity through semi-structured interviews.
When diagnosed with schizophrenia, it is recommended to take a blood test to look at the patient's terrain before introducing antipsychotic treatment and look for diseases of other organs that could take on the appearance of schizophrenia.
It is also recommended to have an electroencephalogram brain imaging to rule out epilepsy and a CT scan or brain MRI to rule out neurological disease.
